Oma Savings Bank (OmaSp) is taking a significant step in modernizing its lending operations by extending its partnership with Samlink for three more years. This extension brings their total collaboration to ten years. Together with Kyndryl, Samlink will support OmaSp’s goals by developing a modern loan lifecycle management system that will significantly enhance both customer and employee experiences.

New Technology to Improve Efficiency

The goal of the collaboration is to modernize loan processes using Samlink’s Progressive Modernization model. This gradual renewal approach enables the implementation of new functionalities without the typical disruptions associated with large IT projects. The aim is for the modernization of loan processes to proceed seamlessly, offering ease of use and efficiency for all stakeholders.

Ville Rissanen, Chief Digital Information Officer of OmaSp, highlights the strategic choice of partners and the goals of the project:

“Samlink, together with Kyndryl, brings strong expertise in developing IT services for the financial sector, making them a natural choice for this initiative. With this development project, we aim to further improve OmaSp’s operational efficiency, reduce the amount of manual work, and enhance quality controls in lending operations. At OmaSp, the customer is always at the center of everything we do. This project is no exception, as it enables us to continue improving the customer experience across all our service channels.” 

The project began in late spring this year, and the first phase has already gone live.
“The initial functionalities were successfully deployed on schedule in October. From here, we will continue the rollout in phases,” says Ville.
