Jari Harjunpää’s Work Focuses on Finding Sustainable Solutions to Customer Challenges

As the turn of the millennium approached, Jari Harjunpää was recruited directly from a university to address Y2K issues. This led him to work with legacy systems like IBM mainframes for the first time. Later, Jari had the opportunity to demonstrate his skills during Finland’s transition to the euro currency. This period allowed him to deepen his expertise in software development and systems integration.

Where Technological Expertise Meets Business Insight

Jari’s career history includes Java development, systems integration, and open-source solutions. Two years ago, he joined Samlink, where he now serves as a Solution Architect. His role combines deep technological expertise with an understanding of the broader business landscape.

Jari’s work focuses on designing and implementing technological solutions that meet customers’ current needs while anticipating future demands. This requires not only mastery of legacy systems but also constant monitoring of new technologies, innovative thinking, and the ability to apply theory to practice.

– Patience and problem-solving skills are my strongest assets in this work. Continuously challenging myself keeps the job interesting, Jari reflects.

The Future Brings Challenges and Opportunities

Jari notes that the field of technology is in constant flux, bringing both challenges and opportunities. The advancement of artificial intelligence and machine learning offers new dimensions for application development and business efficiency. However, it also demands investment in skill development.

– In this field, it’s essential to keep your skills up to date. Online training and earning certifications are fundamental practices that everyone needs to engage in to stay current.

Looking to the future, Jari is optimistic about the possibilities that new technologies present. In his view, the ongoing development of digitalization and technology will enable companies to achieve greater efficiency and agility. Most importantly, he emphasizes that future solutions should not only meet current requirements but also prepare customers for the challenges ahead.

– Every technological solution begins with a deep understanding of the customer’s business needs. Technology must support the business, not the other way around, Jari emphasizes.
